F is for Family

Saturday we celebrated my great uncle's retirement, 85th birthday, and 60th wedding anniversary. So good to spend time with my cousins and second cousins and second cousins once-removed and aunts and uncles and ... you get the picture. Suffice to say, I have a HUGE extended family, and I love each and every one of them.

Had a wonderful time, but I have to say the best part of the day was towards the end of the party. All the little kids were curled up on the bed watching Spongebob, and my 3 year-old cousin, M (only using her initial for her privacy) is sitting next to me, and then she leans into me and just rests her little head on my shoulder and looks up at me and smiles. It just melted my heart; moments like those are what I LIVE for. I hope to have a little girl just like her someday.

In the meantime, I'm just thankful for all the little moments like that. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family.
